Websense releases mobile protector

Antony Savvas

Websense has launched Client Policy Manager (CPM) to deliver desktop and laptop protection to mobile workforces.

CPM offers end-point protection from desktop security threats such as viruses, spyware, peer-to-peer networks and malicious files contained within instant messages, by preventing unauthorised or malicious applications from running.

Websense security policies also prevent unauthorised applications and executables from accessing the corporate network once the machine is reconnected to it.

CPM competes against the likes of VMware’s ACE system, which has just been launched to make sure mobile users stick to corporate IT usage policies.
