Microsoft releases Exchange Service Pack 2

Microsoft is shipping Service Pack 2 for the Exchange messaging platform, with a host of new tools for the Web version of its Outlook e-mail client software.

Outlook Web Access has been upgraded to look more like the Outlook client, the desktop application that downloads e-mail from a server behind the firewall.

Outlook Web Access includes more of the same functions, including meeting reminders, new e-mail notification, calendar tools and navigation that is more like the Outlook client.

Microsoft also added support for several languages, including Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Turkish. Administrators can also track messages from the server with an Outlook interface and improved error reporting.

A description of the enhancements and the download instructions can be found at the Microsoft Web site.
