With a turnover of £307.7m and pre-tax profits up 59 per cent, technology services supplier, FI Group boasted a successful 12 months' operating last week when it released its preliminary year-end results.
According to its financial report, the group - which includes IT consultancy firms OSI and Druid - saw its turnover rise 35 per cent and its pre-tax profit grow to £27m for the period ended 30 April 2000.
The company's staffing arm, FI Recruitment, suffered the impact of Y2K slowdown, notes the report, and recorded an eight per cent decrease in turnover on the previous year. However the group does not expect the pattern to continue and says that since January this year, the agency has seen "substantial month-on-month" improvement and is experiencing increased demand for e-business skills.
"We have produced a strong set of results despite an unusual and tough year," comments group managing director, Jo Connell.
