IBM pulls plug on Verne Holding's Icelandic data centre
Many of the companies hoping to store data at Verne Holding's Icelandic data centre facility, including IBM, have pulled out of the project. The companies cancelled their investments because of an issue surrounding the way in which the Icelandic finance ministry has been dealing with technical difficulties around VAT.

Brocade updates partner programmes
Brocade has announced several changes to three partner programmes: Brocade Alliance Partner Network (APN), Professional Services Partner (PSP) and Support Delivery Partner (SDP). The PSP programme will enable partners to keep all potential revenue from the sale of professional services offerings, while the SDP programme will become a pay-for performance model.

Managed services provider The Bunker Secure Hosting has been chosen by Trans Data Management (TDM) to host AlarmLink, its alarm signalling and management system. TDM will also work with its Swiss partner, solution provider Ascom. The Bunker will bring the client, application and hosting provider elements of the project together.

Digital Realty Trust launches wholesale guarantee programme
Data centre provider Digital Realty Trust has started a programme that guarantees its Turn-Key Data Centres, Build-to-Suit Data Centres and POD Architecture Services will be completed on time and on budget. The company has started the programme to discourage customers from building DIY data centres that the firm claims are more likely to overrun on costs and contingency fees and run over schedule.
