Bath-based telephony provider Gradwell has implemented dual HP LeftHand P4000 SANs to support a VMware deployment on HP ProLiant Servers. The HP LeftHand P4000 product pools capacity on the ProLiant blades into one shared storage resource.
The company serves 18,000 customers and handles 6 million minutes of incoming and outgoing calls per month. Gradwell realised its systems needed upgrading following a five-hour system downtime last year during peak business hours and decided to opt for a virtualised server environment.
Peter Gradwell, founder and managing director of Gradwell, said the HP LeftHand P4000 devices show him utilisation throughput and other statistics, making it simpler for him to carry out capacity planning.
"I can get more disk space before capacity becomes a problem. With our old system, we didn't know there was a problem until it literally started to slow down."
