High street optician Specsavers has selected SQS Software Quality Systems to provide on- and off-shore testing in a three-year managed testing services contract worth over £5 million.

The SQS team will deliver end-to-end testing of Specsavers business applications, from performance through to automated regression testing, with focus on raising quality, reducing risk and increasing the throughput of change.

John Lister, Chief Information Officer Specsavers, said: "Specsavers is a fast growing business that is dependent on robust and effective technology. It’s therefore critical that we have a software testing and QA process that helps us to deliver quality software solutions that are great value for money, quickly and efficiently."

He said SQS Software was chosen doe to its offshore capability, which matched Specsavers’ own growth plans.

Specsavers is in the process of rolling out Google e-mail across the company.
