CA offers same-day mainframe support for DB/2 products

CA Technologies is offering IBM mainframe users same-day support covering 30 CA products.

The "Day One" support for IBM DB2 10 for z/OS covers CA Database Management for DB2 for z/OS, CA ACF2, CA Top Secret security management and CA Easytrieve application reporting.

The software tools company, which is a charter member of the International DB2 Users Group (IDUG) and participtaes in IBM's supplier program for DB2, hopes the same-day support service will help businesses get the most out of their mainframe systems.

"Same-day support for IBM's DB2 10 is a demonstration of CA Technologies commitment to enabling customers to simplify the management of the mainframe and improve operational efficiency" said Dayton Semerjian, general manager, mainframe, CA Technologies.

Along with the new support service, CA Technologies is updating Database Management for DB2 for z/OS.

It said the upcoming r14.5 release was being engineered to help users save time and money by addressing database and application performance issues, simplifying database administration, and improving backup and recovery efficiency.

CA Technologies is also developing its new CA Mainframe Chorus for DB2 Database Management workspace to support DB2 10.

The company recently announced same-day support for IBM's zEnterprise model z196 hardware and z/OS 1.12.
