Network security supplier Stonesoft has made its MobileID authentication software token available for five new mobile platforms to allow access to mission-critical systems.

Stonesoft's free client application, StoneGate MobileID, now supports Apple Mac OS, iPod, iPhone, iPad and Google Android, providing one-time passwords (OTP) for secure authentication to corporate applications, such as CRM and e-mail systems.

Marco Rottigni, StoneGate SSL VPN product manager, said the system provides multi-factor authentication. "The software allows our customers to implement secure access to applications in the cloud with the extensive identity and access management system provided by StoneGate SSL VPN," he said.

"This is extremely beneficial for any organisation that wants to make sure their employees can access necessary corporate applications and data at any time while ensuring the highest level of security."

StoneGate MobileID is part of Stonesoft's StoneGateSSL VPN system. It is available for the following platforms: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Apple Mac OS X, smartphones supporting Java such as Windows Mobile and Symbian with native versions for Blackberry, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Apple iPod, iPhone, iPad and Google Android.

StoneGate MobileID software can be downloaded from the Stonesoft website.
