The Switzerland and Germany-based group, which opened offices in the UK last summer and signed its first UK reseller agreement with ASP Net Services last week, believes many channel companies with an on-line presence are selling themselves short.
Eberhardt Weber, chief marketing officer of hybris, said resellers using the Web solely to display product information were missing crucial elements of customer interaction.

“Many Web sites start small at an entry level with a product catalogue, but the next step is missing. Once you are up and running, you need to create new business models and integrate your site with ERP systems — and we can help with that,” he claimed.
Weber admitted the vendor was facing an uphill struggle in terms of sales, but said it was looking to recruit more resellers to work alongside Net Services in the future. “At the moment, we only have one reseller partner in the UK and one in the US, but we have 1,200 throughout the rest of Europe and are speaking to many others,” he revealed.
Jamie Moore, e-business consultant at hybris’ hosting partner Net Services, said he believed the hybris product set distinguished itself from competitor products through its open level of customisation.
“This is also simple to maintain, which keeps costs to a minimum,” he claimed.
