Channel 4 is making its back catalogue of programmes available for free on its website.
It will be the first UK broadcaster to make all its archived programming available on the web.
Around 4,000 hours of programmes will be available, including shows such as Father Ted, Drop the Dead Donkey and Come Dine with Me. The content will not include US acquisitions such as Lost or Friends.
Channel 4 relaunched its video on demand service in April and says it has seen a 111% increase in traffic since then.
All the archived content will be available to PC, Mac and Linux users.
Jon Gisby, director of future media & technology at Channel 4, said, "We are extremely proud of the new and improved service and think the combination of fantastic content that's easy to find and view will prove a compelling service for all users."
