Apple has now approved more than 100,000 applications for sale on its software catalogue App Store.

According to the website Appshopper.com, there are now 102,485 approved apps and 93,659 are available.

When Appstore celebrated its first birthday in July this year it had a mere 65,000 applications available. It had sold 1.5 billion applications by that point.

These applications include thousands of business applications, which improve personal productivity and can be bought for as little as 59p.
