Google has released version two of its Chrome browser,
incorporating features based on user feedback since the original
release eight months ago.
Chrome 2.0, like the
beta released in March, features speed improvements thanks to a
new version of V8 JavaScript engine and WebKit as well as greater
stability.
Google claims to have fixed over 300
bugs since the launch.
JavaScript-heavy web pages will now run about
30% faster.
Other new features include form autofill, fullscreen mode and
the ability to remove thumbnails from the new tab page.
"If you're already using Google Chrome, you'll be automatically
updated with these new features soon," said Darin Fisher of the
Google Chrome team in a
blog posting.
"If you haven't downloaded Google Chrome, you can get the latest
version at google.com/chrome," he said.
