Technology companies have an opportunity to win US government contracts by working with the Obama administration on cybersecurity projects, according to analyst Forrester.

In a report, Forrester outlined the Obama administration's plan and discussed how technology companies can win contracts for upgrading the nation's cybersecurity infrastructure.

Forrester said the Obama administration plans to declare cyber infrastructure a strategic asset and that it will create a national cybersecurity advisor.

A big opportunity for firms is in technology planning, said the analyst, where companies can provide support for overall strategy, information sharing and early-warning systems.
