The UK high-tech market is showing resilience despite the
economic crisis.
Market data released by EITO,
the European market observatory, in partnership with
Intellect - the voice of
the UK high-tech industries - shows modest growth for the UK IT
market.
IT revenues for the UK are expected to grow 1.3% in 2009,
although this is lower than the increase expected before the global
recession took hold.
Software and IT services are continuing to drive growth, while
the telecom market is slowing down after a strong performance in
2008, said Intellect.
Earlier this week, the European Commission said the IT sector
could lead Europe out of recession given the right support from
member
states
