Security Savings Bank in the US has launched a new online
presense using the Facebook social networking site.
Security Savings Bank said the
Facebook move would allow its customers to share their banking
experiences with friends in their network, offer and read reviews
and comments by others, and learn more about Security Savings
Bank's current initiatives.
"The bank's long-term marketing strategy includes making
Security Savings Bank more accessible through new media channels
such as Facebook. As Facebook's use among our target customers
continues to rise, it makes sense that the bank supplements our
customers' experience through the use of Facebook," said Security
Savings Bank IT director Mark Dunaisky.
"As a bank we have a responsibility to meet the changing needs
of our customers. This includes adopting new media in a manner that
enhances our customers' overall experience with the bank."
Security Savings Bank compliance officer Donald Turner said,
"Through our Facebook site we are able to supplement the bricks and
mortar and traditional online experience by providing our customers
the ability to reach out to others to share their experiences."
