Business Objects has launched a range of new
business intelligence (BI) and eenterprise performance management
(EPM) solutions which it claims will herald a new era of
convergence between enterprise performance management, business
intelligence, and governance, risk and compliance
solutions
The SAP subsidiary believes that its new EPM solutions will
provide customers with improved control and agility, enabling them
to enhance performance across both finance and operations. It says
that firms will be able to have an expanded ability to leverage
enterprise data and achieve a lower total cost of ownership with
increased scalability
As well as the new functionality added to the EPM portfolio,
there is tighter integration with the Business Objects business
intelligence platform and SAP NetWeaver technology platform. The
new EPM products also integrate with
SAP solutions for governance, risk and compliance. This is
claimed to result in the industry’s first EPM solution that enables
customers to link strategy management with risk management.
A new analytics product is designed to extend EPM into
business operations and delivers actionable visibility into
purchasing detail. The aim is to allow business users to formulate
better procurement strategies and controlled-purchasing patterns.
The new solution automatically aggregates, cleanses and analyses
procurement data from across enterprise systems as well as
information from third-party vendors.
