Microsoft has launched a
social networking community for businesses, allowing them to
connect with other companies to share skills and expertise.
The Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) allows firms to access
skills, expertise and resources from others as well as to
collaborate on new business and projects.
More than 1,000 partners have joined the
Microsoft
Partner Network, Microsoft said.
Simon Gautrey, group manager for audience marketing and strategy
at Microsoft UK, said, "Research shows that partners who network
are 5% more successful than those that don't. It is commonplace now
for our partners to network with one another and, as a result,
pitch for bigger contracts where often a multitude of skills are
needed to respond to a customer's needs."
He said, "This is why we have developed the MPN, to make it
easier for partners to seek out and connect with suitable
affiliates to combine skills in order to either win new business or
to better meet customer expectations."
The social network community has been in beta since February
this year.
