Independent bank C Hoare & Co has awarded a five-year outsourcing contract to Capgemini.

As part of the deal, the 336-year-old London-based bank will see its main IT hardware taken out of its Fleet Street headquarters and relocated at a Capgemini datacentre elsewhere in the UK.

Alexander Hoare, chief executive of C Hoare & Co, said, "Our strength as a bank lies in our provision of first-class personal service to our clients, backed by high levels of efficiency and excellent data.

"We are confident that working with Capgemini will maintain and enhance the IT service which provides vital underpinning for our work."

The bank said its contract with Capgemini would also improve the cost-effectiveness of its IT, and allow valuable space occupied by computer facilities at its Fleet Street headquarters to be made available for other business activities.
