F5 delivers nine-fold increase in application firewall performance

F5 Networks says it is delivering a nine-fold increase in performance in its updated application firewall system.

The new BIG-IP Application Security Manager 9.4.2 is also optimised for the increasing number of apps built with web 2.0 interactive features.

To increase reliability and processing speed of the new firewall, F5 has incorporated optimised compression, caching, rate shaping, SSL offload, TCP content manipulation, and TCP Express features into the platform.

Jason Needham, director of product management at F5, said, "Enterprises and other organisations need a manageable, end-to-end application security solution that is flexible enough to protect against the next generation of application attacks as well as current threats."
