EMChas acquiredBerkeley Data Systems, the provider of
the Mozy online backup and recovery services.
Mozy ia designed to protect data that resides on desktops,
laptops and remote office servers.
Tom Heiser, EMC SVP for corporate development and new ventures,
said, "The acquisition of Mozy is a natural extension for EMC in
the protection and security of personal and business information.
We will continue to invest in Mozy's full portfolio of online
backup and recovery services and advance the Mozy brand in the
marketplace," he said.
The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
