Aga, the UK-based cooker maker, aims to improve communications and optimise its business processes with the installation of a network to link its 100-strong Aga and Fired Earth stores.

The network will provide Aga stores with a single connection for internet access, e-mail and inter-shop communications, as well as all electronic point of sale, card sale and stock transactions.

Aga has hired virtual network operator TFM Networks to install the network. TFM Networks had previously installed a wireless local area network at Aga's headquarters.

The physical infrastructure will come from Tiscali and Claranet, with centralised interconnects linking Aga and Fired Earth stores with the group's Telford headquarters.
