Themultifunction printerhas in many offices consigned the fax machine, scanner and photocopier to the waste bin of history. Although a very capable bit of kit, Downtime was relieved to learn that world domination remains just beyond its reach.

A Toshiba support team was recently called out to fix a faulty all-action printer, which was suffering from an unusual complaint.

The engineers discovered that it had been used to toast a cheese sandwich, with the offending item placed inside the device where the most heat was generated. Although the melted cheese caused the printer to malfunction, the bad news for grills and sandwich toasters must be that the cheese was successfully melted.
