Standard Chartered Bankhas signed a
global network services contract withBTto improve the reliability of its
communications.
The bank has operations in more than 50 countries. BT has been
selected to supply international network services to Standard
Chartered Bank in 16 countries, including the UK, Singapore, Hong
Kong, India and Malaysia.
BT is providing a highly resilient
multi-protocol label
switching-based network to help eliminate single points of
failure and minimise risk globally.
The strategy is designed to guarantee the quality and
availability of critical services that are used for access to
centralised banking applications and systems in Standard
Chartered's global datacentres and shared service centres.
The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
