The BCS Information
Systems Examinations Board is inviting IT professionals to
contribute to the development of a foundation certificate
in
information management.
A draft syllabus for the qualification has been reviewed by
organisations including the
Metropolitan Police,
Yell, the
Ministry of Defence and IBM, which have participated in a
working group to develop information management as a
profession.
The proposed qualification aims to have a holistic approach to
the subject, based on the model developed by the working group.
Sharm Manwani, associate professor at Henley Management College
and former CIO at organisations such as Diageo and Electrolux,
presented the draft syllabus for discussion, with the aim of
tailoring and agreeing a broad syllabus on which to base the course
and develop sample questions.

of the qualification, or who would like to provide input, should
