The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is using a
data sharing service to fight against the increasing problem of
card not present (CNP) fraud for e-commerce
merchants.
The service is being supplied by fraud prevention
specialist Ethoca and will be available to customers of the bank’s
risk management solution Risk Guardian.
The system will be available to its global list of e-commerce
customers, and merchants already using PaymentTrust for payment or
fraud management-related services will have access to the
service through their existing integration.
RBS hopes its anti fraud activity will attract additional
merchants to its growing customer base, and will it be actively
promoting the strategic value of this new service.
"Effective data-sharing is without doubt a key next step in
battling fraud in internet commerce and customer-not present
environments. By adding Ethoca to RBS's payment platform and its
Risk Guardian suite of CNP risk tools, merchants can safely share
data for purposes of fraud management via a highly secure and
easily integrated platform. RBS is confident that it can make a
significant impact on fraud rates and profits for its
customers."
