SAP and Microsoft have joined forces to optimise the
SAP Business Suite on
Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005 database to help cut costs and ease
integration.
Bob Muglia, senior vice president of the server and tools
business at Microsoft, said, “With this joint offering enterprise
customers will be able to efficiently deploy and operate their SAP
environment on SQL Server 2005 whilst realising a lower total cost
of ownership.”
For customers moving to the next generation of SAP business
software and systems, the partners said they will offer database
conversion tools, documented best practices, and deployment
services support to ensure a non-disruptive transition to
enterprise
service-oriented architecture (SOA).
SOAs allow firms to flexibly develop web-based applications in
response to changing business needs.
