CA has introduced a performance analysis and diagnostic
tool for its Database Management system that enables administrators
to monitor both real-time and historical performance metrics for
all databases distributed across the enterprise.
CA Database Management delivers an integrated
set of technologies that enable best practices for managing complex
data infrastructures across database design, modelling,
performance, administration, and backup and recovery.
The new performance analysis tool, CA Insight Database
Performance Monitor for Distributed Databases, features a new
database Quality-of-Service index that synthesizes multiple key
performance indicators and presents the status of each database as
a single, colour-coded and numeric indicator.
The intuitive performance tool enables IT staff to quickly
determine which, if any, of the various databases across the
enterprise require immediate attention.
From within CA Insight DPM for Distributed Databases, users can
also drill down from the high-level view to ascertain specific
database server conditions, such as locking, inadequate free space,
I/O bottlenecks, high CPU utilisation, and inadequate memory.
Through its integration with CA’s browser-based, multi-database
administration tool - CA Database Command Center - CA Insight DPM
for Distributed Databases enables customers to address potential
performance issues before they affect the business, said CA.
