Fashion retailer Next is selling more clothes online than through its call centre, making it one of the most successful high street adopters of e-commerce.
Next has cut costs by consolidating the logistics operations used in the catalogue business into a single warehouse running a new warehouse management system.
It announced last week that sales at its Next Directory business were up 13.1% to £774.5m last year, buoyed by rapidly growing online sales.
Some 55% of sales at the retailer's catalogue division were made online, compared with 35% during the previous financial year.
