F5 Networks has announced
Application Ready Network to speed up the
performance of Microsoft applications.
F5 said the solution offered businesses using Microsoft
applications a simplified way to design, deploy and manage an
integrated, optimised network infrastructure from a single
vendor.
The application delivery network is specially designed,
integrated, tested and documented to ensure the successful delivery
of Microsoft applications, according to F5.
Application Ready Network is designed and optimised specifically
for Microsoft Office 2007, including Microsoft Office SharePoint
Server 2007, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and Microsoft Live
Communications Server 2005, with plans to support the upcoming
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.
According to F5, Application Ready Network functions as a simple
overlay network built on the strengths of the entire Office
portfolio. F5 said the solution removed the bottlenecks outside an
application’s control, such as Wan latency.
Application Ready Network is designed to improve end-user client
performance, deliver stronger security, unify access control and
enforcement, and ensure scalability in Office 2007
applications.
Rob Bernard, general manager of the worldwide ISV group at
Microsoft, said, “The comprehensive architecture F5 has designed
will optimise application performance for Microsoft customers.”
The application optimisation market is becoming a crowded one,
with Citrix one of the latest players to launch a raft of solutions
to improve implementation and speed delivery of apps.
