Nokia has launched the latest version of its mobile
enterprise mobility product at this week’s
3GSM Congress in Barcelona.
Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite 8.0 is sold by carriers and
service providers to firms wanting to enable their staff to fully
synchronise their mobile devices to their office-based
applications.
The new version comes with a wider choice of deployment options
- behind a firewall or hosted - and support for an increased number
of mobile devices, whether Windows, Symbian or Palm driven.
Scott Cooper, Nokia vice-president for enterprise mobility
solutions, said, “We are bringing to market mobileware that is
uncompromised on capability, price, design, platform, and on user
experience.
"We are delivering a mobility platform with a strong combination
of robust security, scalability and ease of use - topics that make
sense for the mobile workforce, the IT manager, business
decision-makers, and operators alike."
Telecom Italia, IBM, LayerOne and Novell are among the providers
selling the product to enterprises. The updated platform is
available immediately.
