EMC has posted
a big sales increase for the full year, but only a modest increase
in net profits.
The data management and storage giant has reported revenues of
$11.155bn (£5.87bn) for the year, which is 15% higher than the
previous year.
Net profits for 2006 were $1.22bn (£642m), compared to $1.13bn
in 2005. EMC said the profit figure is much higher if restructuring
and delayed stock option costs are put aside.
Joe Tucci, EMC CEO, said, “EMC had another record fourth quarter
and a solid finish to 2006. We have now delivered strong,
double-digit revenue growth for four straight years and we are well
positioned to do it again in 2007.”
In the fourth quarter, sales in the EMEA region were up 22%,
higher than North America and elsewhere.
