Axminster Carpets has rolled out
a network security management system to help protect its
operations.
Axminster has chosen the DynaComm i:scan endpoint security
solution from FutureSoft to monitor and regulate its IT
network. The system enables group-based control of PC end-points,
minimal administrator overheads and real-time protection.
"We were becoming more and more concerned about spyware possibly
infecting our network," said Axminster network administrator Garry
Larcombe. "We also needed to prevent users from installing
applications, such as instant messaging, that could present a
security risk."
The company has implemented a series of network policies based
on types of user and their needs. Management staff are allowed more
flexibility to install applications, while PCs involved in
manufacturing are completely locked down.
Larcombe and his team also have access to daily threat reports
created through the system.
