EquaTerra is developing a new outsourcing management
platform using Microsoft Office technology.
The outsourcing advisory firm is to launch the new platform next
March. The solution will enable firms to effectively govern and
manage the performance of their internal business processes, such
as HR, IT, procurement and finance and accounting.
Mark Toon, CEO of EquaTerra, said, “The trend toward using a
complex blend of outsourcing, offshoring and internal shared
services creates an increasing requirement for end-to-end business
process performance monitoring.”
Without effective outsourcing governance, said EquaTerra, firms
risk losing up to 20% of the anticipated value from their business
process outsourcing initiatives.
The EquaTerra governance solution is being developed with the
help of Microsoft Consulting Services, and primarily uses Microsoft
Office’s Business Scorecard Manager 2005, Microsoft Office
SharePoint Portal Server 2003, and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
The solution is designed to provide large firms with an
enterprise-wide management view of all its internal business
processes.
The platform is currently being trialled at customer sites. No
licence costs for the solution have so far been revealed.
