Microsoft has launched Windows PowerShell 1.0, a
command-line shell and scripting tool designed to ease
administration and speed automation.
Available to download from the Microsoft website, the software
is designed to work with Exchange Server 2007, System Center
Operations Manager 2007, Version 2 of System Center Data Protection
Manager and other platforms.
PowerShell has also been built into the next version of Windows
Server, codenamed Longhorn. It will also work with Windows Server
2003. Microsoft said it will release Beta 3 of Longhorn in the
first half of 2007.
The firm has also announced the first public beta of Forefront
Client Security, the security solution for enterprises.
