Tibco Software has updated its Collaborative Information Manager to
handle master data management in an SOA-based environment.

Version 6.0 of the offering includes a business process automation engine,
which supports business rules and workflow and multi-data domain capabilities,
which create a single reference source for all information assets.

It also provides a web services interface to enable the system to communicate
with multiple applications. This means that business users can access and
manage the information they need to do their jobs, no matter where it is
located across the enterprise.

Neeraj Gokhale, Tibco’s general manager of enterprise information management,

creation, deployment and management standards and technologies. But if data
is inconsistent across applications, it will be increasingly difficult, if
not prohibitive, to build heterogeneous SOA services that cut across multiple
systems and departments.”

The upgrade, which is customisable, is available now.
