The Housing Corporation plans to roll out a new
multi-milion pound IT infrastructure next year.
The Housing Corporation has hired independent IT consultancy
Improcom to assist it in the procurement process. The new
infrastructure is expected to be fully functional by the end of
August 2007.
The Corporation funds new affordable housing and regulates the
work of around 2,000 housing associations, managing more than two
million homes across England.
The Corporation has about 450 staff based at nine offices.
Improcom will guide the Corporation through the procurement
process, ensuring the procedure is conducted according to the new
Official Journal of European Union Competitive Dialogue
procedure.
Helen McDonagh, Corporation head of contracts – information
systems, said, “It is important that the Corporation has a reliable
ICT network infrastructure and disaster recovery policy in place to
support our business operations.
“With Improcom guiding us through the tendering and procurement
procedure, I’m confident that the Corporation will procure a
managed IT service that will satisfy our ongoing communication
needs.”
