Property firm Land Securities has extended its contract
with e-learning provider SkillSoft in a two-year deal worth more
than £215,000.
SkillSoft provides online training to 2,000 employees across
Land Securities’ business, following the success of a customer
service training project for 99 call centre staff, which produced
savings of more than £33,500 from the training budget in six
months.
The new contract will see SkillSoft delivering Land Securities
branded training through its online learning portal, SkillPort. The
training package will include business and IT content, and Land
Securities will also use SkillSoft’s virtual classroom technology
to create tailored training modules.
Angela Williams, group human resources director at Land
Securities, said a key advantage of the SkillSoft package was that
staff could “spend 10 to 15 minutes looking up what they need to
know and then apply it straight away”.
She added, “This self-led learning approach has already been
embraced by our customer service staff, which has actually helped
with staff retention – instead of moving out of the business,
employees now have the skills to move to other roles within the
company.”
