Red Hat has released development tools to the open
source community, which are designed to make it easier for
enterprises and developers to quickly test and integrate new
applications with Red Hat Linux and other Linux
distributions.
The company has also announced a new web-based community for
open source developers seeking development partners, and an open
source entertainment website for end-users.
The development tools released to the open source community
include Dogtail, which is software for testing graphical
applications running on Linux.
In addition, Red Hat is releasing internal scripts it has
developed for testing applications.
It has also released an automated test suite that tests
graphical and non-graphical applications under the widely used open
source General Public License (GPL).
The new web community for enterprises and developers is called
108. The beta site is similar to Microsoft’s MSDN (Microsoft
Developers Network) website.
