Teradata has established an analytics lab to allow
retailers and consumer goods companies to analyse data captured by
radio frequency identification (RFID) applications across their
supply chains.
The new Retail Advanced Business Analytics & RFID Lab is
housed at the Teradata Benchmark Centre in California.
The lab demonstrates to customers how their data can be used in
innovative ways to increase business value, said Teradata, which is
a division of NCR.
The new lab handles data to help develop deep analytics,
predictive modelling and data mining solutions.
Bill Franks, Teradata director of retail analytics, said, “The
lab is dedicated exclusively to addressing the everyday business
management issues faced by retailers.
“Our customers recognize that the ability to find connections
between detailed-level data gives them a competitive advantage,” he
said.
Teradata is currently inviting retailers to take part in tests.
“Teradata will help scope targeted projects of four to eight weeks
in length that help companies explore new areas of data analysis,”
Franks said.
