Software delivery optimisation firm Borland Software has
completed the acquisition of Segue Software in a $100m
(£56m) deal.
The acquisition of Segue, a specialist in software quality and
testing, forms part of Borland’s plans to refocus on its
application lifecycle management business. It follows moves
announced in February to find a buyer for its integrated
development environment business, including the Developer Studio
and JBuilder product lines.
Tod Nielsen, Borland’s chief executive, said, “With Segue’s
talented people and best-of-breed products, we are well positioned
to change the way our industry looks at software quality – making
quality a priority not just for testers and quality assurance teams
but for every individual involved in delivering high value
software.”
Borland has begun the process of integrating its application
lifecycle management products with Segue’s Silk and SilkCentral
product lines, in the run up to delivering a new Borland Lifecycle
Quality Management package later this year.
