Intel has launched a storage system designed to make
storage easier for SMBs. The Intel Entry Storage System SS4000-E is
based on standard Network Attached Storage (NAS) technology, and
can store up to two terabytes of data. It aims to centralise large
data files and grant access from multiple users.
The platform connects through a Gigabit Ethernet network and
supports up to four Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA)
hard disks. It provides security tools to limit access to shared
folders and data protection through support for RAID Levels 0, 1, 5
and 10. The client back-up and recovery application is a
centralised function providing entire system back-up and
recovery.
