EMC has unveiled two new network attached storage (NAS)
devices and a system for root-cause diagnosis of NAS
systems.
The new appliances include the Celerra NS704, which can scale up
to 48Tbytes, and the Celerra NS350, which is designed for smaller
datacentres and which can handle up to 10Tbytes.
EMC has also introduced its Smarts IP Availability Manager for
NAS. This product can diagnose root-cause failures in an IP
network.
The product works with Celerra systems and those from EMC rival
Network Appliance.
The software is based on technology EMC acquired through its
2004 takeover of System Management Arts (Smarts), a real-time
network management systems developer.
Pricing for Smarts IP Availability Manager starts at
£29,000.
