Oracle has unveiled a new enterprise search platform for
corporate networks.
Oracle's Secure Enterprise Search program is designed to help
firms scour databases, e-mail systems and other business
applications to enable users to quickly glean information for their
jobs.
Oracle’s move is in direct competition with Microsoft, Yahoo and
Google, which have all recently launched new enterprise search
solutions.
Oracle chief executive officer Larry Ellison launched the
solution in Japan, and described Secure Enterprise Search as one of
Oracle’s “biggest products in years”.
Security features in the product will ensure that users only
have access to data that they are authorised to view, said
Oracle.
The search tool will be available by the end of May, Oracle
said, although no pricing for the solution has so far been
disclosed.
