More PeopleSoft user groups have chosen to join with the
main US-based Oracle user group as Oracle’s acquisition of the
company approaches its first anniversary.
The main independent organisation, the Oracle Applications User
Group (OAUG) says the most recent PeopleSoft user group to join it
is the PeopleSoft CRM User Group.
The PeopleSoft CRM User Group will now have a greater input into
Oracle’s Project Fusion, the ongoing effort to create new
best-of-breed applications based on the products of companies
recently bought by Oracle.
Other organisations that have recently linked up with the OAUG
include the PeopleSoft Credit & Accounts Receivable Experts
(PSCARE) group, the PeopleSoft Healthcare Industry User Group, and
the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable (PSAP) group.
In September, the OAUG announced the formation of the Oracle
Retail Users Group, made up of customers Oracle took on when it
bought Retek, the specialist in business software for
retailers.
PeopleSoft had sponsored around 170 user groups, and it is
estimated that over 125 have remained independent. Others have
joined with the Quest International Users Group, the user group
originally set up to protect the interests of JD Edwards customers,
before they were subsumed by PeopleSoft when it took over the
company.
Quest is now working closely with the OAUG, with the pair
holding their annual conferences at the same US venue this
year.
