CA Identity Manager, launched last week, could help
companies securely manage IT user identities. The product was
developed using technology from CA's recent acquisition of
Netegrity.
The product aims to unify identity management throughout the
enterprise and streamline and simplify the administration of
internal and external users and their IT entitlements.
Chris Christiansen, vice-president for analyst firm IDC's
security products and services group, said, "Best practice IT
governance and compliance requires disciplined policy definition,
reliable policy enforcement, and credible compliance
documentation."
Toby Weiss, senior vice-president and general manager of CA's
security management business unit, said, "Organisations are finding
it difficult to simultaneously meet the needs of the business,
ensure information security, comply with data privacy regulations,
and keep costs down."
CA Identity Manager is designed to improve compliance and
security by automating identity management processes.
