Microsoft has made available Release Candidate 1 for its
forthcoming Windows Server 2003 R2.
The free download follows Release Candidate 0 in the summer and
is expected to be last major review of the product before it is
commercially launched before the end of the year.
R2 is an update to Windows Server 2003 SP1 and provides improved
branch office server solutions, identity and access management and
storage capabilities.
Microsoft last week announced that the Windows Server 2003 R2
Enterprise Edition would allow firms to run up to four virtual
“copies” of the software on one physical server, at no additional
cost.
