Alpha Software has launched Data-2-the-Web for MySQL, to
allow developers to create web-enabled databases faster. The
company said its tool can build web databases “in less than 10% of
the time it takes using languages like PHP, ASP, Perl and
JavaScript”.
Data-2-the-Web has been ‘MySQL Network Certified’, meaning the
Alpha solution has gone through compatibility testing to make sure
it works seamlessly with the MySQL open source database server and
tools.
Alpha says that non-programmers, who have never had the ability
to connect websites to databases or create web-based applications –
such as order entry, contact management, registration systems, lead
tracking, catalogs, appointment scheduling, status reporting and
e-commerce applications – can now do so using its new system.
“With Data-2-the-Web for MySQL, non-programmers can build
powerful web applications connected to MySQL databases,” said
Bertrand Matthelié, MySQL director of alliances. “We are impressed
by the significant productivity gains that even experienced
programmers can achieve through the use of Data-2-the-Web.”
Data-2-the-Web for MySQL comes in two components. The
Data-2-the-Web for MySQL Builder, for designing and testing
applications locally, is free.
The Data-2-the-Web for MySQL Server is listed at £370, but is
now available at an introductory price of £105 for an unlimited
number of users per server.
