IBM has added new document management technology to its
content management portfolio through the acquisition of developer
Green Pasture Software. Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
Green Pasture's products will be available from IBM immediately.
Tailored for the financial, insurance and automotive industries,
the company's technology integrates with other applications such as
Microsoft Word and is designed to handle documents incorporating
multiple files, such as spreadsheets and design references.
Green Pasture is a longtime IBM partner, and its software, used
by about 100 customers, already integrates with several of IBM's
DB2, Lotus and WebSphere technologies. Green Pasture's 20 employees
are expected to join IBM.
Green Pasture's technology will form part of IBM's data
management software portfolio. IBM has been building out its
content management offerings surrounding its DB2 database software,
adding through recent acquisitions Aptrix Web content management
tools and integration software from CrossAccess.
