IBM is enhancing its line of WebSphere middleware
monitoring and modelling tools with changes aimed at helping
customers look at their business processes and make them run more
efficiently.
WebSphere Business Integration Modeller and WebSphere Business
Integration Monitor Version 4.2.4 can help manufacturers watch and
optimise their supply chain processes, said Paraic Sweeney, vice
president of marketing, WebSphere Business Integration.
"Managers that can model and monitor their business conditions
have a greater ability to make proactive decisions and quickly
incorporate business processes and IT resource changes that help
them reduce costs and meet regulatory requirements."
Among the improvements will be tighter integration with the
WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker, which is intended to
let customers monitor and model message flows.
There will also be tighter integration with software from
Rational Software, IBM's development tools subsidiary, enabling
users to create business models and export them for implementation
in Rational Rose and Rational XE.
Users will also be able to create customisable monitor
interfaces in the WebSphere Portal.
IBM will also introduce a WebSphere Business Integration
WorkBench entry edition to provide basic modelling and simulation
capabilities.
