Of the IT managers responding to this week's Computer Weekly/Harvey
Nash Big Question, 39% said their company plans to cut the amount
it pays IT contractors.
Earlier this week, Barclays Bank announced it was going to slash IT
contractor rates by 20%, and a number of this week's respondents
said their companies are also addressing the issue.
"We have already imposed a 10% cut on contractor rates," said one
IT manager.
"We will pay what we have to pay, but we have noticed that rates
are going down," said another.
